101 Marketing & Promotion for Performers
This is the overview. The detail of what works for you, you’ll discover in time. But the foundations, everyone needs those.
I am keeping it simple, for clarity.

IT IS A REAL BUSINESS
Success takes hard work. And will probably take longer than you expect.
You can be part time or full time, but you’ll need to put in the work in creation and marketing
OWN YOUR OWN NAME
You don’t want to be just “Platform/another.model”.
You want all your fans to be YOURS, not a platform’s.
So :-
BUY YOUR DOMAIN
If you don’t own it, soon you’ll find someone else has grabbed it, whether by coincidence (same name) or not (evil pirate about to sell your stolen content, and it will be MONTHS, or YEARS before you get control of it).
It’ll cost you the price of a takeout for 2-3 people.
I use GoDaddy, and you’ll notice this is NOT an affiliate link. I use them because their system to then use your domain is the most user friendly I’ve seen. (Note, DO NOT build a website with them, they don’t meet all our needs)
USE YOUR DOMAIN
If you are Me.com, and are on a Platform at platform.com/me you can point Me.com at Platform.com/me and your fans will see your platform content.
This matters because they will always go to Me.com – so if the platform was to suddenly close or decide to boot you, or decide they don’t like your work, your clients will simply go to wherever you go next.
Usually – Domain Forwarding will suffice. If not, it’ll be DNS which might look scary, but usually isn’t.
REGULAR CONTENT UPDATES
Whatever you choose to provide – clips, scenes, camming, whatever – and wherever you do so – own website, platform – set a schedule you can keep, at least for the big ticket items like “New Full Length Scene Every Week”. If camming, if you can schedule some times, do so, even if you jump on and off a lot as well.
NETWORK THE FUCK, and FUCK THEM (to make content)
Even if you are strictly solo, if you work with others you’ll get a different feel – everyone films differently. Solo but working together brings new ideas, more creativity, and, it’s more fun.
If are doing GG and GB etc, shared content days with other performers stops your fans getting bored. Women – just say NO to studs asking to content share UNLESS you want their look. If a guy pushes back, file under idiot. If you do want an older guy for Bad Butler, Happy Client etc, I always say yes, so just ask me 🙂
USE SOCIAL MEDIA, and by Social Media, we mean TWITTER
Because Insta and FB will dump your arse. See my Articles section.
Post a few pics and very short clips to show people you are real.
Find and follow loads of other industry professionals. Ask to work with them.
Follow me, ask for a RT of a photo and I will say “Welcome to a new performer….”.
LEVEL UP – YOUR OWN WEBSITE AS WELL AS PLATFORMS
All the above works for a simple “sell on a platform” model. But, with your own site – which I can build for you, £19pm (all other currencies welcome), you can :-
Sell Direct – keep ALL the money, and also sell things that you can’t sell on platforms, (non compliant but legal content, knickers, deposits for meetings, scheduled prepaid cam shows)
Newsletter for Fans – you are no longer reliant on other companies.
For most people, you keep your platforms – because your own will use alternative payments, and some clients will always prefer credit cards, (and unless you selling several hundred worth each month, card contracts are too expensive).
