Blisss Notes
So, I opened a Blisss.company page to sell some of my stuff.
But Paul, Why? You have your site and store?
Indeed I do. But the costs of taking credit cards really can’t be justified with a CC sales of less than around £800pm, and you really want it to be heading a lot higher.
So, for CC sales, I need a platform.
My real fans buy with Bitcoin, if they have it of course 🙂
As I always say, the solution for Creators is OWN SITE and PLATFORM.
Process and Notes, in order I notice them
- So, sign up is straightforward.
- WARNING – the default URL is /randomstuff. In Edit my Page change the Username one to /PaulJones (or whatever).
- ANY EXISTING Posts URL will update, any links on other sites to your Blisss posts, will break.
- Adding content is easy – even a 2.4GB video uploaded at a sensible rate.
- Content goes live immediately.
- No need to provide per content ID or releases (but you must have it available of course). I like this. They can’t get hacked for info they don’t have, so co-stars are safe.
- Once you set up and enable subscriptions it defaults all posts to PRIVATE.
- To allow a post to display to the public, unclick the padlock in the Edit Post.
- Now, my business model is to post a lot of free photos and video clips, but charge for longer form videos. So, subscription is free.
- Bliss allows people to go to your page and see the videos, which would be good if it separated the paid from the free, but it doesn’t, so… keep a note somewhere of the URLS for the paid video posts, so you can do direct promo of them on Twitter etc.
- Right now, can’t find Creators by Country. Annoying. They should add this. Also multi-category search such as Couples in UK.
