Bitcoin* for Fans (and Creators)
This is NOTHING to do with investing in crypto, trading crypto or any of the other stuff you hear about. You don’t worry about the Forex Markets when you buy currency for holidays, you just buy what you plan to spend over the next couple of weeks. If you run out, you buy more. Same with Bitcoin. By direct from them, using bitcoin. That way you know they are getting ALL the money. No middle men.
How to get started :-
Step 1 : Visit getalby.com and install the Alby wallet.
You will now have an empty wallet.
Also set up your main getalby account
This will give you an account like getalby.com/p/badbutler
Step 2 : Fan? Get some Bitcoin 🙂
BEST WAY : Go to your getalby.com account (not the browser wallet), then go to Payment and TopUp. Follow the process and buy as much or as little bitcoin as you need using your Credit or Debit Card. I tested with £50 through my Debit Card and it worked fine.
Some banks and card companies prevent cards being used to buy bitcoin. If this happens, try other cards, but if you draw a total blank:-
Go to LocalBitcoins.com and find someone willing to sell you £50 of bitcoins. Mostly people are honest, but as usual, look for people with loads of good feedback and a decent rate. You send them £50 and text them your getalby URL and they send you the bitcoin.

Step 3 : Spend them on the creators you love 🙂

Step 1 : Have a free empty wallet. Get one from getalby.com, and set up an account with them. Setting up the account is essential to be able to paywall your content.
Step 2 : Get widgets for your web site**.
Step 3 : Create your pages and promote them.
My BadButler shop uses a simple paywall from getalby.com (available for free, for WordPress) – you’ll notice that i price in USD so that people understand it.
Step 4 : SPEND YOUR MONEY!
Easiest option for modest sums is to go to bitrefill.com and buy vouchers/gift cards for wherever you want to shop. I usually get a Tesco one and use it for a food shop. But that’s just the kind of wild guy I am:-)
